Android powered hard hat with in built AR
The Wall Street Journal have reported on a new LA based startup called Daqri plan on releasing an Android powered hard hat for building sites with in built augmented reality features to provide information to engineers onsite. Oculus Rift running on Samsung Note 4
This is insane. Oculus Rift have managed to get their VR headsets running on Android using a Samsung Note 4. Problem is that the sheer power required melts the device in to molten plastic (ok, an exaggeration perhaps). It’s hoped that developers will use it to produce short VR clips for players, because there’s nothing so convenient as having to strap a large plastic headset on for a 10 second short.
