Asus MeMO Pad for $150

Are you looking for a budget tablet? Is the Nexus 7 too expensive for you at $199? Then I have good news as Asus is launching a cheaper version of the Nexus 7 called the Asus MeMO Pad for just $150. Now don’t expect at this price that you’ll get that great processor or screen resolution. But hey that’s how tablets become cheaper. If you are on a really tight budget but really want a tablet in April then the MoMO Pad might be just for you.

Personally I think it’s totally worth the extra $50 to get the Nexus 7 as it’s the best tablet on the market. I have owned the Nexus 7 for a while now and it has been my favorite. But don’t let me convince you if that $50 is that important which I can totally understand. Do expect to get a lower resolution screen of 1024×600 along with 1GHz VIA WM8950 processor. You also lose out on a back camera which is not that big of a deal in my opinion. One advantage that it does have over the Nexus 7 is the microSD car slot that will let you expand that 8 GB storage. Overall what you expect from a budget tablet. More specs below and should be available in April.

ASUS Launches the MeMO Pad™

The new MeMO Pad™ is designed to go wherever you go.

Created for both work and play

ASUS MeMO Pad™ runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and is powered by a 1GHz VIA WM8950 CPU and a Mali-400 GPU for a smooth and fluid entertainment experience. It features a 10-point multi-touch LED-backlit display with 1024 x 600 resolution, 140-degree wide viewing angles, and its 350-nit brightness means images remain clear, even outdoors.
