Kindle Fire Update 6.3

Amazon started rolling out software version 6.3 to the Kindle Fire this week. It brings a variety of improvement with what I think the biggest being a browser reader option. This is similar to what Apple incorporated with iOS 5.1 in which you can convert internet pages to just the text version. This technology makes pure reading articles much easier on a mobile device like phone or smaller tablet like the Kindle Fire. Unfortunately the update does break root but that has already been solved.

If you are on stock Kindle Fire with no root then you should automatically get the update. If you are rooted you might get the update based on whether you are on stock or a custom ROM. If you do get the update then you can get root back by following the link below. Otherwise, if you are on a custom ROM and are curious about the new update then there is a rooted 6.3 update available.  You can flash this stock 6.3 ROM just like any other ROM from a custom recovery. The ROM is fully stock with no changes but with root access. This way you can get a taste of the update but with root and the ability to go back to a different ROM. Just remember that no one is responsible for you device except you. Check out the new update and enjoy.
