Here at Android Cowboy we try to find the best apps and games for tablets to review. Although that would seem straight forward it’s harder than it appears because the Android Market doesn’t have a tablet section. That’s the reason this site was started to help tablets owners find great apps for their device. But even we could use help trying to find great tablet apps in the Android Market. That’s why another website called Tablified.com has started an alternative Android Market just for tablets. They include only apps that are optimized for tablets on their site and now they have created their own app. Let’s take a look at the details for this app.
The Tablified app is in beta and this is the second version which is much improved. The app has a clean setup with categories and options menu on the left and a main area on the right. The home screen has a similar look to the Android Market with picture blocks of apps. You options are recently added, news, reviews and editor’s choice. At the top there are options for apps and games with subcategory menu on the left. The app categories are similar to the Android Market but with a few additions like root apps. Apps can be viewed in both detail mode or as app icon thumbnails. The latter view doesn’t include the names underneath the icon so I didn’t find it as useful. Each app includes all the information that you would find from the Android Market. At the end there is a link for install and you also have the options to leave a comment.
Tablified is a clean and simple app that will help you discover optimized apps for your tablet. You can use it to find apps while on the go or visit their site. Since Google has made no attempt to distinguish phone and tablet apps it falls on the Android community to step in and fill in the void. Here at Android Cowboy we try to do our part by reviewing tablet apps and Tablified is doing their part by providing an alternative Android Market for tablets.
