1Weather: Tablet Support and Updated UI

OneLouder Apps is one of the better Android developers in the Google Play Store. They are responsible for great social apps like Friendcaster, TweetCaster, BaconReader, and CBS SportsCaster. This year they released their first weather app which maintained the same quality as their other apps. Today they have updated the app with tablet support and a refined UI. I tested the app on my Nexus 7 and it’s definitely one of the best weather apps I have used.

The 1Weather app has a new refined UI and follows the Google guidelines for Holo themed apps. Upon first opening the app, it will automatically add your current location or you can choose. You have real-time weather that can be updated from 15 min to 12 hours. Clicking on the wind, humidity, or the other info icons will pop-up with the information like how the data is measured. You can choose to have current condition notification on or off. The background image of the app can be changed to a variety of weather scenes.

The 7-day forecast, barometer, or radar info can be accessed via the menu bar on the right. The radar has a few options including satellite view. There are 3 different widget types to choose from which include classic radial display, compact, and tabbed. You can also add a lockscreen widget as well for devices running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The app is free but does include small ads at the bottom. You can remove the ads for a price of $1.99 through in-app purchase. Overall a great weather app which everyone should check out. Let us know what you think.
