Install Alternative Home Launcher for Kindle Fire HD

On the latest Kindle update you cannot change the launcher background and it will display black. There is no solution so far.

We have put together a video showing you how to install alternative home launchers from the Google Play Store. Although the Kindle Fire carousel launcher is pretty good there are serious limitations. The biggest limitations being that you don’t get multiple screens and widgets. Today we’ll show you how to not only install an alternative launcher but be able to switch back and forth to the Kindle Fire launcher as well. The best of both worlds together. So let’s take a look.

You will need root access to be able to install any launcher on the Kindle Fire. We also recommend installing the Google Play Store so you can easily download and try different launchers. For a comprehensive list of the launchers available for Android please go here. Once you are rooted and have the Play Store then you are ready to go. Just watch the video and in no time you’ll have a Kindle Fire with a whole new look. Enjoy and leave us a comment if you have any questions.
