Root Galaxy Note Pro 12.2

The new Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 is a beast of a tablet and in a class of its own. It’s not clear if it will be a big hit but Samsung likes to try new things and in some cases they pay off. A 12-inch tablet with a stylus S pen can be a powerful and productive device. Samsung has also pre-loading lots of software as an incentive to help buyers overcome the high price. The tablet is about the price of a laptop at $749 price tag. But despite the amazing hardware many still don’t like the Samsung TouchWiz software. In that case rooting is a great option to take advantage of the hardware but with a different software. Thanks to Chainfire we now have a root method for both the WiFi and LTE version of the device.

[errors title=”Disclaimer”]As with all modifications, remember that you do this at your own risk and nobody is responsible for your device except you.[/errors]

The following are instructions for rooting the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2. This procedure will wipe your device therefore backup is recommended.

  1. Install USB drivers for the tablet.
  2. Enable USB debugging by going into setting>developer options and checking the box.
  3. Download the appropriate zip file for your device from this link and extract it to a folder.
  4. Go into download mode on the tablet. Turn off your device then press [power+volume down+home] at the same time till you see the Android guy. Press volume up then power to go into download mode.
  5. In the extracted file run the odin v3.07 as administrator then connect your tablet to the computer via USB cable.
  6. In Odin program select AP and choose the tar.md5 file in the extracted folder. Leave all other setting as default.
  7. Click the start button.
  8. If successful you will get a green pass in the odin program then your device will reboot.
  9. Unplug your device from the computer and enjoy root.

™s that easy thanks to Chainfire’s CF AutoRoot. Now head over to the XDA forums to get the most out of your rooted tablet. If you have any questions be sure to comment below.
