Wouldn’t it be nice if you had a huge amount of storage on your new tablet like the Nexus 7. Don’t get me wrong 16GB or 32GB is descent space for most things but it would be nice to not even worry about space. That is specially the case for people who play high-end games that have a typical 1GB download size. You can quickly run out of space without even realizing it. Well Seagate today has announced a new 500GB hard drive for tablets that may finally end the storage frustration.
So are all of the storage space on tablets have been flash drives in order to save space and make the tablets thing. But that compromise might be coming to an end with the development of a new drive by Seagate specially designed for tablets. The hard drive is a super thin Ultra Mobile HDD design with Seagate’s Dynamic Data™ Driver software technology. This new driver will have more storage space but with the same power, performance and reliability of a flash device. For more specific details checkout the Seagate statement.
Personally I think it’s about time that someone started to address the storage issue on tablets. Hopefully the release of this hard drive will push other manufacturers to make similar hard drives and we’ll see incorporation fairly soon. Although cloud storage is important and will continue to grow, there is still room for hard drive storage. Let us know what you think about the new Seagate drives.
