If you bought an Amazon Kindle Fire HD and looking to get more out of the device then we have a great app for you try. Talented developer 0xD34D over at XDA has put together an app for the Kindle Fire HD that gives the device many extra setting options. One of the best setting is the ability to disable the lockscreen ads. Although the ads are not too intrusive it’s very nice to get rid of them. There is also a host of other setting as well. So let’s check them out.
Some of setting in the app does require root access and that includes the ad removal. If you haven’t rooted you Kindle Fire HD then don’t worry as we have easy instructions. In order to root the Kindle Fire HD 7 go here and for the Kindle Fire 8.9 go here. Besides ad removal you can adjust the windows and transition animation. There are extra options like stay awake, extra battery info, developer options, and text-to-speech. There is also a shortcut screen to WiFi information, usage statistics, accessibility setting.
Another cool feature is that you now have an AOSP style camera app that you can use. The lockscreen style can also be changed to slide, pattern, pin, or password but does require root access. You can even adjust and debug the Amazon stock launcher as well. The app is very useful and has really neat features if you have root access but without root they are limited. The app needs to be sideloaded on the Kindle Fire and for instructions go here. Checkout the app and let us know how you like it in the comment section and visit the source page for more info and updates.
