Asus had definitely stepped up their game in the Android tablet market. They went from over a year ago with the Asus Eee Pad Transformer with its innovative keyboard dock to the high-end Transformer Prime. In my opinion they currently have the best Android tablet in the Transformer Prime but technology moves fast so that could change easily. The Transformer Pad is an attempt to bring a cheaper and more affordable version of the Transformer Prime. In terms of hardware the two are very similar expect the Pad has an IPS display versus the IPS + on the Prime. It’s a noticeable difference but so is the price and that’s how it goes. The battery on the Pad is also diminished to 8 hrs compared to the 10 hours on the Prime. The tablet currently comes in blue with more colors to come in June. It ships with the latest Android 4.0 software without any modification from Asus. Overall this a great tablet with very high-end specs at a great price. Spec details are as follows.
