Amazons Fire Phone hasn’t really set the world on Fire…get it? Anyway, ad company Chitika has run the numbers using the devices being used to view its ads and reckons that 35,000 may be a good number. I hope it’s more. Perhaps then Amazon might send us one for review.

Badly coded Android app takes down the US Weather Service

Yes. That’s right. One app took down the US Weather Service for nearly 24 hours. It’s believed that a badly coded update timer caused a polite version of a DDoS (distributed denial of service) attack against the servers of the US Weather Service.

China plans homegrown alternatives to western OSs

It’s inevitable that China, with its insanely large population, would look to create its own range of operating systems for desktop and mobile devices. After all, Western software doesn’t always translate in use perfectly and every country wants to be less dependant.
