Archos Titanium 97 and 80 Tablets Available for Purchase in US

Back in CES 2013 Archos debuts their line up of new tablets. These are high quality built tablets at low prices that looked very attractive. They are all Google Play certified and running Android 4.1 software with access to all the Android apps, books, music, and movies. Now the tablets are available for purchase in the U.S. from various retailers including Amazon.

The Archos 97 Titanium HD is the standout tablet with a 9.7″ 2048 x 1536 pixels resolution screen. This is on par with the Nexus 10 and other high-end tablets. It’s 9 mm (0.35″) thick and weighing only 640 g (22.5oz) in an aluminum casing. You get a 1.6 GHz Dual Core processor, microSD card for expandable storage, 8 GB internal storage, and front and rear camera. This is by far some of the best specs for a 10 inch tablet at an unbelievably low price. It’s a tempting choice if you want a larger tablet or any tablet at all.

The Archos 80 Titanium is the little brother at 7.9″ and doesn’t pack quite the same punch at the Archos 97. This tablet is more designed to compete with the Kindle Fire devices with a lower price and specs. The screen resolution is only 1024 x 768 resolution with a 1.60 GHz ARM710 processor. You have the usual front and rear cameras, 8 GB internal storage, and microsD card for expanded storage. There is also a mini-HDMI port to connect the device to your HD TV. Still not a bad device for the price and certainly competitive with other tablets in the same market.
