Root Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 Achieved

The Amazon Kindle Fire HDX is a great device with the high-resolution screen and access to Amazon services. But one major setback is the lack of access to Google Play Store and its apps. That requires root access which has usually not been that difficult. But Amazon has gone to great lengths to make it difficult on the latest Kindle Fire HDX. Despite that, the Android developer community usually finds a way and this device is no exception. A talented developer, jcase, has been able to finally get root access on the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 model. All rejoice now!

Before you get too excited about rooting you Kindle Fire HDX 8.9, you should know that this is in early phases. It requires some knowledge of ADB and is not recommended for novices. But if you are willing to follow instructions and be careful then you can probably get it done. If you are new to rooting then you may want to wait till a more easily usable program is put together.

I currently don’t have the HDX 8.9 model and can’t test it myself. But I do have the HDX 7 and as soon as that’s rooted I’ll bring that information. As usual I’ll also make a video to make it easier for novice rooters. But for now be glad that root has been achieved and hang in there a bit more till more info comes out. If you want to try the root then hit up the source link below at XDA. As always be careful and know that whatever you do is at your own risk.
