DirectTV App for Android Tablet

If you have DirectTV and a 10 inch Android tablet then today is a good day. DirectTV has finally released they Android app for tablets. But it’s only for 10 inch devices and does not support 7 inch tablets like the Nexus 7. Now that is a bit of a bummer but a step in the right direction. Maybe they think all that great content should be seen on a bigger screen or they were too lazy in their development. Either way, there is now at least an app to start.

The DirectTV app will let you watch live TV on your tablet although not all content is available. You can browse and watch shows and set your DVR to record. Your homscreen can be customized and favorite channels can be added. You can search the guide for up to 14 days and there is also social sharing options to Facebook and Twitter. Not a bad start and hopefully with more support it will get better. At least now you can watch in one room on your tablet while others are watching something else on the main TV. Let us know what you think about the app in the comment section.
