Madfinger Games Makes Dead Trigger App Free

If you have been following any articles on Dead Trigger then you know there has been a lot of controversy around the game. First many users were upset to find out that after buying the game for 99 cents that you still had in-app purchases. People have taken their anger to the reviews and left a lot of 1 stars on the Google Play Store. I personally paid for the app and even spent another $4 to buy some cash and gold. I have not regretted it one bit and this is by far the best Android game that I have played so far. I usually play games for a bit but then get bored and stop playing but that has not been the case for Dead Trigger.

This game is well worth the $1 for the app and even a few more bucks if you end up paying in-app. Madfinger Games has stated that you do not need to spend money to play the game and I would agree with that except that it’s harder and will take longer. But games aren’t supposed to be easy and you should have to spend some time to earn weapons and move forward. Paying to buy cash or gold is for people who don’t have time to play that much and just want to have the fun quickly. Based on the quality of this game it’s easily worth $6-10 and the developers deserve to get paid for a great app that they make. But now it seems that Madfingers has made the game free and their reason has been piracy. It seems like Android users don’t even want to pay the 99 cents for this great app. Now I know some of that is true because I have personally found many games online for download when searching Google. But how big of a problem this really has becomes nobody actually knows.

Regardless of free or 99 cents user need to stop expecting to play high quality games for free. If it’s a casual game then I can understand wanting to play for free or just 99 cents but not with high quality games. Nobody plays these types of games for free on Xbox or PS3 and even though these are mobile games we should not expect anything different. If this continues then developers will leave Android for other systems (iPhone anybody) and we’ll be stuck with crappy games. So let’s support our great developers and bone up a few dollars to play these great games on Android.

Statement from Madfinger Games from their Facebook page:

“Regarding price drop. HERE is our statement. The main reason: piracy rate on Android devices, that was unbelievably high. At first we intend to make this game available for as many people as possible – that’s why it was for as little as buck. – It was much less than 8$ for SHADOWGUN but on the other hand we didn’t dare to provide it for free, since we hadn’t got XP with free-to-play format so far. – However, even for one buck, the piracy rate is soooo giant, that we finally decided to provide DEAD TRIGGER for free. Anyway – DEAD TRIGGER is not FREEMIUM, it always was and still remains FREE-TO-PLAY, that means, all players are able to play it without IAP! We stand up for this statement, because all members of our team are playing (and enjoying) DEAD TRIGGER without IAP.”

Download Dead Trigger from Google Play Store.
