Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014)

galaxy-note-10-2014-2The update Galaxy Note 10.1 for 2014 is finally the premium tablet for Samsung. It features top of the line hardware with a 2560 x 1600 WQXGA display and a Exynos 5420 Quad-Core Processor. You get a whopping 3GB of RAM and a 8MP rear camera that shoots in 1080p. The back of the tablet has also changed from the cheap looking plastic to the the fake stitched leather plastic. Definitely gives it a more premium look and feel. The software has been updated to the latest Android 4.3 with tons of software enhancements for the S Pen. If you are looking for a premium 10 inch tablet and one that you can write, draw, and take notes then the Note 10.1 is it. It’s a unique tablet and nothing in the market can compete with it as the moment.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0

samsung-note-8Samsung seems intent on providing tablets and phones in just about every size that you would need. In introducing the Galaxy Note 8 tablet, it feels that gab between the larger Note 10.1 and the smaller Note II phone. Personally I like the smaller tablets in the 7-8 inch and believe it’s the optimal size for a tablet. There is nothing particularly special about the Note 8.0 as it’s basically a smaller Note 10.1 or more accurately a larger Note II. It has the rounded cores and the center home button found on the Galaxy S3 and Note II. So if you are looking for a smaller tablet that has the S-Pen capabilities then the Note 8.0 might be the right tablet for you.

  • Operating system: Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with S Pen technology
  • Display: 8-inch (1280 x 800 pixels)
  • Processor: Quad-core 1.6 GHz  Exynos 4412 CPU, 2GB of RAM

  • External storage: microSD memory slot

  • Inputs/outputs: USB 2.0, Proprietary Docking Port, 1 headphone
  • Battery: Nonstandard
  • Dimensions: 8.3 x 5.3 x 0.31 inches

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1

Back in February Samsung showed off the Galaxy Note 10.1 at Mobile World Congress. But after the announcement the tablet was nowhere to be found and Samsung delayed the release. This may have been a good decision to hold off and upgrade both the hardware and software. Good things come to those who wait and the Galaxy Note 10.1 was worth waiting for. Samsung has upgraded the processor to a 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos 4410 CPU with 2GB of RAM. The camera has been updated with a 1.9-megapixel front-facing and a 5-megapixel back camera. The body also includes a built-in slot for the stylus in which the back of the stylus can be used as an eraser. But what’s most impressive is the note taking, photo editing, and multi-tasking. In a first for Android, apps can be run side-by-side in a true multi-tasking mode. There are also plenty of pre-loaded app to take advantage of the stylus like Adobe Photoshop Touch and more. Looks like a great productivity tablet with all the usual Android games for fun. I’m really looking forward to getting my hands on this tablet.
