New Zagat App by Google

Last year Google purchased Zagat and they have slowly been incorporating the restaurant ratings into their services. Currently Google Maps will display Zagat rating for certain restaurants and their local pages. But now Google has developed their own specific app for Zagat which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. This replaces the previous third-party app from Zagat that was available before it was bought from Google. The great thing is that the app and all the Zagat information is free for anyone to access where previously you had to pay.

The Zagat app has a simple interface and easy to navigate. On the tablet you have the right pane which displays the Google Maps with a left pane that displays the restaurant listing. On the top is the filter bar which you can use to narrow your choices in cuisine, scores, and features. Choosing a restaurant will display the Zagat summary along with full rating info. You’ll also find the address along with any photos for the restaurant. Currently the listing are for major cities around the world with limited service in other places. Overall, a great app that is easy to use and a great way to find your next favorite restaurant.
