Unlock your phone the lazy way with SALT

Over on Kickstarter at the moment is a chance to fund SALT, a bluetooth based device for unlocking your phone without all that finger poking.

SALT is a credit card sized device which connects, via an app, to your phone. When it’s within 10ft of your device the app will unlock your phone. When the app detects that you are no longer within 10ft then your device automatically locks.

Now this isn’t the first attempt at a lazy-mans solution to the not-problem of unlocking your phone. Adafruit.com have a great guide on how to create your own open source NFC ring which will unlock your device when it’s near your hand. However if you don’t want to get involved in this level of fun…I mean effort, then perhaps the SALT is for you.

Find out more at their Kickstarter page and we wish them luck.
