Samsung Galaxy S5 Rooted

If you are at all familiar with the Android rooting community, then you will know Chainefire. He’s been rooting devices since the early days of Android and making root apps as well. He’s very good and fast, hence the fact that he has already rooted the brand new Galaxy S5 although it has not been released in the U.S. yet. That’s how good the man is at rooting. The method uses his CF-Auto-Root which has been used for past devices as well. I’ve used it to root my Nexus 5 and it was a very easy process.

Even though Samsung makes great hardware I’m not a fan of their software. I much prefer the stock Android and feel that TouchWiz in Samsung has become very bloated. That’s why knowing that you can root is great news which means that custom ROM will be available and you can flash that stock software away. One thing to note is that this root is for the international version of the Galaxy S5. There is likely to be various versions of the S5 in the U.S. and this root may not necessarily work on all of them. If you’d like to know more than head over to the XDA forum for more info. If you are buying an S5 then let us know if you plan on rooting or if this has changed your mind about getting the device.
