For most of us charity is something that requires a marathon. Or a hike up Everest. Or even shaving your head. But there are much more ways you can do your bit for a good cause, and quite often it only takes a click of a button.
Over the last few years, smartphone and tablets have become life’s necessity. We can check emails, train times, and even do our grocery shop using them, whilst charity organisations have also come up with innovative new ideas to raise money and awareness.

We go to Google for most things, so why not charity? One Today sends a new cause to you every day, both teaching us and giving the option to donate to unknown causes we may become really passionate about.
Receive a notification every day through to your Android device, with even the option to share the cause via social media, and all round raising awareness for some of the most incredible non-profit organisations in the world.
Donate A Photo
Brought to us by Johnson & Johnson, Donate A Photo allows you to upload your favourite images and raise money for a variety of causes at the same time. So far the family company have seen over 190,000 uploaded for which they have donated $1 for each, seeing them raise enough money to help over 10,000 children amongst many other worthy causes.
Play To Cure: Genes In Space
You wouldn’t think a race through space would have any link to the fight against cancer, but thanks to the coming together of the Rational Group and Cancer Research UK, we have just that. By using real genetic patterns from cancer patients as a route, you must guide your way through space, blasting asteroids. The route then gets sent back to analysts to find a connection between specific genes and one of the world’s biggest killers.
Feedie
Certainly one for those who enjoy dining out, Feedie allows you to feed some of the poorest children in South Africa whilst enjoying an incredible meal yourself. In conjunction with The Lunchbox Fund, simply take a picture of your meal in a participating eatery, and one meal gets donated to the lunchbox fund, meaning not only do you get a hearty meal, but so does someone who really needs it.

This app was developed by the UN Refugee Agency and gives you the option of three real-life situations to display the struggle people have to go through.
