Besides making the beautiful Nexus 7 devices that we all love, Asus has their own line of tablets. What makes the Transformer Pad line of tablets unique is its ability to dock with a keyboard which makes it a 10 inch notebook like device. With all the productivity apps that you can get from Android it can basically replace a traditional notebook. Asus has just released the refreshed Transformer Pad TFT-701T which is a premium Android tablet.
The Transformer Pad is a premium Android tablet and that can easily be seen with the high-resolution 2560×1600 pixels display. That’s were the tablet shines with a gorgeous 10.1 inch screen. Add to that a quad-core 1.9 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 4.0 with 2GB of RAM and you have a beast of a tablet. The device runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and boasts 13 hours of battery life which can be extended with the keyboard dock.
Now the keyboard dock is what really separates this devices from the usually Android tablets on the market. Once you easily attach the keyboard you have what can hardly be distinguished from a normal notebook and earns the tablet name of Transformer Pad. The dock will cost an additional $140 on top of the $499 for the 32GB Transformer Pad. A bit costly but much cheaper that a regular notebook device.
