If you were looking for a tablet for this Father’s day as a gift then you had a lot of choices. One of those being the Nook HD tablet which recently added the Google Play Store. The Nook was deeply discounted for Father’s day to $129 for the 7 inch tablet and $149 for the 9 inch version. That’s a very low price for a pretty good tablet. But it seems that the discount will stick around for a while longer although it’s not clear when the deal will end.
There is a good chance that the large discount for the Nook means that Barnes & Noble is trying to sell out its stock. That means that either the Nook HD tablet line is being discontinued or a new version is coming out. Due the lack of sales and stiff competition I would say that the tablet is being discontinued. But that doesn’t mean that its a bad tablet and that you shouldn’t buy it. In fact the Nook HD tablet is probably one of the best deals you can get for a budget tablet right now. And since they added the Google Play Store you have access to thousands of apps, books, movies, music, and more. So if you are looking for a low-budget tablet then I would seriously consider grabbing this deal before its gone.
Is the Nook HD a better deal than the Kindle Fire or Nexus 7. Overall I think it’s a better deal than the Kindle Fire since it has access to the Google Play Store. The Kindle Fire HD is too locked of a device and limited. The Nexus 7 on the other hand offers a pure Android experience that you won’t get on the Nook HD. That experience in my opinion can be worth the extra money. But if you are on a very tight budget then that might not mean much. In general I would still recommend the Nexus 7 as the best tablet to buy if you can afford it then the Nook HD and after the Kindle Fire. Let us know you think about the Nook HD tablet in the comment section. Is it better than the Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire.
