The release of the Kindle Fire HD 8.9″ was a clear strategy for Amazon to step away from the cheaper Kindle’s and start to compete with the iPad. The 4G LTE version of the Kindle Fire 8.9 is the most expensive model of all the devices at $399 for the 32 GB version. Although this is still $100 lower than the iPad and very competitive. But many may be hesitant to try the Kindle Fire as it’s a new device. But starting tomorrow you can take a look and buy the device right from AT&T stores. There is also some subsidies that you can get as well.
You can buy the device at AT&T for the regular $399 price and add the service to your current mobile plan for $10 per month. If you think that price is too high then you can get it discounted to $249 if you sign a two-year contract. I’m personally not a fan of the contract model and specially for tablets. Considering that in tablet world, two years is almost a lifetime with so many new products bound to be released. But if you really need the connectivity and plan to use it for that long then maybe it’s not a bad deal. At least you can walk into the store and checkout the device which can be nicer then just ordering online. So do you plan on getting a 4G LTE Kindle Fire. Be sure to let us know.
