The new Google Nexus 7 tablet seems to be a hit already as it has been sold out in most online and retailers. Everyone is praising both the hardware and specially the new Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software. Jelly Bean is very smooth and looks to finally make Android tablets relevant and competitive with other popular tablets. But if you already have a Kindle Fire then you’re probably jealous and wish that you could get your hands on some Nexus Jelly Bean goodness. Well thanks to the great Android developer community that is actually possible. If you have a rooted your Kindle Fire then there are some Jelly Bean ROMs already available for flashing. They are early builds but seems like its booting fine and most things are working reasonable well. I’m sure as time goes on it will get even better. As we did previously with the ICS ROMs we’ll post all Jelly Bean ROMs here in this post and continue to update. So try out some Jelly Bean on the Kindle Fire and check back for updates and enjoy. Be sure to leave your comments about the software or any questions.

Alien Droid [CM10]
This is a CM10 Jelly Bean ROM that offers some customization like batter icon, WiFi icon, boot animation, ads blocked, and more. It uses the Bravo engins with beats audio and the gapps are pre-installed. It’s also disguised as a Galaxy Nexus for more app compatibility.

Jelly-Bean ROM using SGT7
This is a CM10 ROM with setting and launcher from SGT7. I have personally confirmed that Google Now is working on this ROM except for the voice search. I would suggest flashing this ROM first.

Jelly Bean Tablet Edition aka Project Jandycane
This is actually a tablet edition of Jelly Bean (AOSP). The default Jelly Bean on the Nexus 7 is more like a phone version with the bottom dock and pull down notifications. This ROM has been modified to a tablet UI with no dock and a bottom right notifications. This is more consistent with Android 4.0 ICS and might feel more familiar to most user.

Jelly Bean 4.1.1_r1 for the Kindle Fire
This is the first Jelly Bean ROM by the talented Hashcode who seems to always be the first with new ROMs. It is considered as a daily quality ROM by the developer with most things working. There seems to be some issues with USB mass storage though. Google Now is not working yet based on my experience.
