Redbox: Watch Trailers and Reserve Movies From Your Tablet

Redbox allows you to rent movies from kiosks in your local area for only a $1.20 and $1.50 for blue-ray discs. The rental period is for one day and there are plenty of kiosks at most places. It’s the cheapest movie rental and it has been gaining followers daily. It has gotten even more popular with the Netflix fiasco of doubling prices and Qwikster. You can always go to your local kiosk to browse for movies but the best way is to reserve a movie straight from your computer. Now with its popularity Redbox has published an app that makes it even more convenient to reserve a movie.

The Redbox app is laid out in a simple manner and it’s very easy to find and reserve movies. You can either brows and find movies by categories or search. Once the movie is selected there is the option to find the closest kiosks for reserving. Alternative you can choose your kiosk location first which will only shows movies available from that location. A nice feature is the toggle button at the bottom of the app which turns on or off the kiosk location selected. The app also allows for login to make it easier to reserve movies quickly but is not necessary.

Movies selected within the app have synopsis information and trailer video. The information is not in-depth so you’ll probably need to look at IMDB for more detailed information if needed. The trailer is a nice feature and plays without any issues but the quality is low. Definitely a place where Redbox could improve the app in the future. But overall a good app that serves its function very well.

Download from the Android Market.

On Kindle Fire download from Amazon Appstore.
