Memory Trainer: A Game to Exercise Your Brain on the Kindle Fire

Memory Trainer is a game for Android designed to improve your memory. Like Brain Age for the Nintendo DS, these games can be fun and challenging in a short amount of time. Let’s see how this app works on the Kindle Fire.

There are six mini-games included in this app.

You can play each of these games individually with an adjustable difficulty, or choose to do one of twenty workouts. The workouts consist of three of the six challenges and increase in difficulty quickly. At the end of every workout your performance is judged based on mistakes made and repeated animations. Memory Trainer will attempt to chart your performance over time, but I didn’t find this feature to be very useful. Some of the games leave a lot of empty space on the screen but the app looks good on the Kindle Fire and has an intuitive user interface.

Overall, I liked Memory Trainer and had no problems with it on the Kindle Fire. While it may seem easy at first, the games are quite challenging at the end, N-Back in particular, is mind boggling. The workouts are quick which makes this game great for short breaks.
