Amazon Kindle Fire and App Reviews

It seems like we’ve been talking about the Amazon Kindle Fire forever but the time has arrived and it’s finally here. I pre-ordered mine back in September and should be receiving it today. I’m very excited to see what this low-priced tablet will deliver specially compared to my current Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 which is more than double the price. Clearly the specs of the Kindle Fire doesn’t match the higher end tablets but how does it affect the experience. Amazon is betting on price and its content like music, movies and books to overcome any hardware deficiencies. This is a tablet made for the masses and will most likely disappoint any Android tech geeks. But it’s great to see a different type of Android tablet on the market and from the rumors on the internet it seems that the Kindle Fire is poised to do well.

I’m also very excited to announce that Android Cowboy will be adding app reviews specifically for the Kindle Fire. We’ll be adding a new Kindle Fire category with the typical sub-categories like games, news, etc. Currently all app reviews on the site that are available on the Amazon Appstore have been linked and we’ll be testing to make sure they are compatible with the Kindle Fire. If you want to see the list, try the Amazon Appstore tag in the tag cloud on the sidebar. We hope that by adding support for Kindle Fire apps, AndroidCowboy.com will offer a better experience for all Android tablet owners. If you have any ideas, suggestions or comments please let us know.

Info on the Amazon Kindle Fire and other Android tablets can be found on our Tablets page.
