APPY Geek: Technology News App for Tablets

There are a more than a few good news apps for tablets but sometimes you need more focused information like technology. Trying to keep up with the daily barrage of technology news can be difficult and having a technology news app can be an advantage. That’s why I have really enjoyed using Mobile Republic’s APPY Geek for tablet. This app is based on their original News Republic for tablet with the same style and user interface. The design is simple but tablet optimized with a clean look and easy to navigate.

You can choose and filter your news from 19 sources that includes Associated Press, TechRadar, New Media Age, Pocket-Lint, Technology Blogged, Tech Watch and more. The app has a sidebar with a list of stories and a main area that displays different sections that you can customize by adding your own sections or topic.  There is a visual topics tag cloud that quickly brings attention to the current hot topics. Article font size can be easily changed with a quick touch. You can share each article with your favorite social sites or give it a vote. Another great feature is that you can save articles and quickly access them from the home screen. The app includes a search button if you don’t want to browse and are looking for a specific article. Overall, APPY Geek is a great tablet optimized app that will help you keep up with all the technology news.

Download from the Android Market.

On Kindle Fire download from the Amazon Appstore.
